Even in spite of the recent theatrical release delays due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, we are still getting first looks at 2021’s upcoming films. Tom Story’s hybrid live-action/animated take on the iconic duo of Tom & Jerry, now set for release next March, is about to get its first trailer – having been rated today for cinema release by the German FSK board.
This follows the director mentioning on Instagram that the look is due to arrive online on November 16 – however with the rating today, we’d expect this to happen far sooner than that: likely as early as next week, alongside the cinema release of The Witches in multiple countries including Germany (in the U.S. and the UK, the film will be released on HBO Max and PVOD respectively). As always, we’ll have the latest info here as it arrives…
Kayla is a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry takes up residence, threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. She hires a broke alley cat named Tom to come in and get rid of Jerry, which proves to be easier said than done. That may be for the best, as the duo will likely need each other to defeat Kayla’s villainous boss, who isn’t a big fan of either one.
Starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Ken Jeong and Rob Delaney, the film is currently set for release March 5, 2021, in U.S. and UK cinemas.
