The big-screen continuation of ITV’s Downton Abbey is – almost half a year after the first teaser – about to finally get an extended look. A brand new trailer for the film has been rated today by the UK’s BBFC, likely in time to go in front of UK screenings of Rocketman from Wednesday, leading us to expect it online in the next few days (if not later today). As always, we’ll have more info here as soon as it arrives.

The television series Downton Abbey followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house. Over its 6 seasons, the series garnered 3 Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, 69 Emmy nominations in total, making Downton Abbey the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys – even earning a Special BAFTA award and a Guinness World Record for the highest critically rated TV show along the way.

Starring Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton, the film is released September 13, 2019 in the UK, followed by the U.S.  September 20.
