On the heels of an epic extended IMAX preview of the film hitting U.S. cinemas with Shazam (as well as international ones imminently), one more – presumably final – trailer for Mike Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of The Monsters has been rated today by Consumer Protection BC.
This follows a tweet from the film’s official account earlier today teasing something debuting on HBO this Sunday, April 21, around that day’s episode of Game of Thrones – this seems likely to refer to that new trailer! In any case, stay tuned for more in the coming days…
The epic action adventure pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Starring Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi, the film is released May 29 in the UK, followed by May 31 in the United States.
