The latest film from Interview With A Vampire director Neil Jordan is about to get its first trailer in the coming days. The thriller Greta, which bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September, has – according to sources – had its first trailer sent to U.S. cinemas earlier this week by Focus Features, with it also now confirmed (by Deluxe/Technicolor) to be attached to copies of On The Basis of Sex which opens Christmas Day. Expect it online at some point over the next week and we will be sure to have it here as soon as it drops.
A sweet, naïve young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, Frances doesn’t think twice about returning the handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta, an eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music and an aching loneliness. Having recently lost her mother, Frances quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two become fast friends – but Greta’s maternal charms begin to dissolve and grow increasingly disturbing as Frances discovers that nothing in Greta’s life is what it seems.
Starring Isabelle Huppert, Chloë Grace Moretz, Maika Monroe, Colm Feore and Stephen Rea, the film is released March 1 in the U.S., followed by the UK on April 19.
