The follow-up to the hit ITV/PBS show Downton Abbey is hitting the big screen next September and in a surprise move, Universal and Focus Features are set to kickstart its marketing campaign very early – with a teaser trailer due to land in the next few days.

The first look, clocking in at just over a minute, was rated today by Alberta Film Ratings. We are hearing that it’s due in U.S. cinemas as soon as this weekend (likely to go with Mortal Engines as well as Focus’ Mary Queen of Scots and On The Basis of Sex), so stay tuned for it arriving online in the coming days…

Starring Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton, the film is released September 13, 2019 in the UK, followed by the U.S. a week later on September 20. The complete original series is available on U.S. and UK home media platforms now.
