The 2018 CLIO Entertainment Awards (formerly the Key Art Awards) took place last night in Los Angeles, with some of the best trailers and promotional campaigns of the past year getting the industry’s top marketing honours. Coming away with the highest Grand honours are the debut Bob Ross-parodying teaser for 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 (Big Picture/MOCEAN), agency AV Squad’s work on Hereditary‘s trailer and TV spot campaign for A24, as well as Warner Bros/New Line’s integrated campaign for last year’s It.
Many of our and the film community’s favourite trailers of 2018 took home the Gold awards from CLIO, including the debut trailers for Steve McQueen’s Widows (Wild Card), Barry Jenkins’s If Beale Street Could Talk (Motive) and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born (GrandSon). Several 2017 highlights were also awarded, such as the FYC trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit(Annapurna in-house).
Be sure to check out the full list of winners and nominees – running the full gamut of marketing in film, TV and games including posters, experiential and more – at the CLIO website.
