Ahead of a certain other spider-related film hitting cinemas next week, the third trailer for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has been prepared by Sony and is now ready for release, having been rated by Alberta Film Ratings today.
The film has been confirmed for a New York Comic-Con panel on the morning of Saturday, October 6. One would usually assume that is where the new look at the film will premiere – however, an important point to bear in mind is the release of Venom. If the trailer is indeed attached to screenings of the film (which we’ll be shocked if it isn’t) – which begin on Thursday evening – and Sony waits until the Saturday panel to premiere it, chances are high that it will leak out in low-quality bootleg form from these first opening night and release day showings, undermining the launch. So there’s every chance the trailer will come online earlier in the week, if not this week altogether! As always, we will be sure to update when more information comes in.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
Starring the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez and Lily Tomlin, the film is released December 14 in the U.S. and UK.
