UPDATE: A trailer tease confirming tomorrow’s launch has aired on UK television during ITV’s Love Island.
Ahead of Warner Bros’ presentation at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday, the brand new full length trailer for David Yates’ Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been rated this afternoon by the UK’s BBFC. As with our Godzilla: King of the Monsters update yesterday, the rating all but confirms that the brand new look is set to debut online during the studio’s Hall H presentation, which begins at 10:30am PT/6:30pm BST! We will be sure to have the trailer here as soon as it’s online.
The powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald has been captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
Starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner and Claudia Kim, the film is released November 16 in the US and UK.
