Overnight, Alberta Film Ratings has classified the first trailer for Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. This is ahead of Warner Bros’ presentation this Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, all but confirming that the sequel to Gareth Edwards’ 2014 reboot and next installment in the studio’s MonsterVerse should be dropping its first look online during the panel, alongside the previously-confirmed trailer premiere for Aquaman.

This follows a first-look clip from the film debuting online last night courtesy Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, which you can check out below. There have also been rumours at a red-band trailer also hitting for the film at some point in time, via thumbnail images embedded in the source code of the official website, however as of the time of writing, these have now been removed. Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island have both been PG-13 movies, there is no reason for Warner Bros. or Legendary to change that now.

The Warner Bros presentation at SDCC 2018 begins 10:30am PT/6:30pm BST, so we’ll be sure to have the trailer here as soon as it arrives online!

An epic action adventure pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Starring Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi, the film is released May 22 in the UK, followed by May 31 in the United States.
