Fans have been asking us when will Universal release the first look at J.A. Bayona’s sequel to Jurassic World – and it appears we finally have some (semi-)official info.

The team at Dirtees (via Scified) are attending the Brand Licensing Europe expo in London this week and are reporting the studio announcing, during their presentation at the expo, that the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to debut on December 13 and play theatrically with Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

It’s important to bear in mind that this – especially the online/public release date – is very much subject to change as we are still two months away from the release of the new Star Wars; and this is more insider-type info intended for branded product licensors as opposed to the general public.

But debuting with The Last Jedi is a logical choice, and it’s likely not the only major first look that will be shown theatrically in front of what is said to be the movie event of the year (The Force Awakens and Rogue One carried a number of major trailer debuts such as Captain America: Civil War and others), and this may very well be the current plan.

The first trailer for Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World premiered on November 25, 2014, so this timeframe is about when we would’ve expected the first footage from Fallen Kingdom to arrive. In any case, be sure to stay tuned as we are on the lookout for more updates.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful franchises in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.

Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, B. D. Wong – all reprising their roles from Jurassic World – and joined by Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, James Cromwell and the Dr. Ian Malcolm himself, Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is released June 8 in the UK, followed by June 22 in the United States.
