And all the speculation can now officially be put to rest – Warner Bros. and IMAX have announced the full list of IMAX theatres worldwide playing the 5-minute 20-second prologue sequence for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk from today. This list was revealed on the film’s website and we have included it below:
This dropped just a day after the brand new trailer for the film, which you can watch here. We had the chance to see the prologue in 70mm at the BFI IMAX in London last night, and it is spectacular – managing to do a much better job selling the film than the trailer itself even.
The BFI IMAX was the first and only venue worldwide to play the prologue last night, with none of the other listed locations having playing it with their Rogue One shows so far – but from today, all the listed locations will play it.
“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
Starring Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Fionn Whitehead and Harry Styles, and filmed with a combination of 70mm and IMAX film, Dunkirk is released in IMAX film, 70mm film, 35mm film and digital formats July 21, 2017.
