UPDATE (Dec 12): Deluxe Digital Cinema have sent the trailer to North American cinemas for the releases of Rogue One and Collateral Beauty this week. To prevent any leaks ahead of the first U.S. showings of Rogue One, the studio have encrypted the trailer file much like a film would be. In any case, expect it online by the end of Thursday…

Original post follows:

We reported back on Monday that it appears IMAX screenings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will get, much like The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises before it, an IMAX prologue sequence (the opening 7 minutes) for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. And now we know, that much like those previous films, that’s not the only thing coming.

Consumer Protection BC have now rated the second trailer for the film today, clocking in at 2 minutes 12 seconds. While this does sound more substantial than the 1-minute announcement teaser we got back in August, we do expect this to be, in classic Nolan style, light on any plot details, and likely not show that much at all – a true ‘teaser trailer’.

We will keep you updated on this trailer and the IMAX prologue as news and confirmations come in. We expect this to drop online next week in conjunction with Dunkirk‘s IMAX prologue, which will almost certainly not be released online.

“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.

Starring Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Harry Styles, and filmed with a combination of 70mm and IMAX film, Dunkirk is released in 70mm IMAX film, 70mm film, 35mm film and digital formats July 21, 2017. See the announcement teaser below:
