It’s finally here – Paramount Pictures have brought the first trailer for Ghost In The Shell online following a premiere at a special event in Tokyo featuring director Rupert Sanders, and stars Scarlett Johansson and Takeshi Kitano. Featuring some fantastic visuals, as well as a cool cover of Depeche Mode’s Enjoy The Silence, this trailer has definitely bumped up our anticipation for the film, in spite of the controversy surrounding the casting of Scarlett and the notion of a ‘westernised’ adaptation of such a key Japanese property. Watch the trailer below:
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Also starring Michael Pitt and Juliette Binoche, Ghost In The Shell arrives in theatres on March 31, 2017.
