UPDATE (Nov 2, 2016): Tomorrow is the day – Sony Pictures UK have just announced the trailer’s release on their Twitter. We’re hearing it’s due to release 7am tomorrow morning (that’s midnight PT tonight/3am ET) – we will be sure to have it here as soon as it launches.
Original post follows. (also – are the UK changing to the T2: Trainspotting title? Boo…)
Choose life. Following from a literally one-shot teaser trailer back in July, Sony Pictures are preparing to unleash the first substantial footage from Danny Boyle’s highly-anticipated Trainspotting sequel titled – quite simply, T2. (and yes, we are sticking to calling it that, as it is the official UK title. Sorry Terminator fans!)
The BBFC have classified two versions of the upcoming two-minute trailer – a 12A rated one, and a 15-rated one. Odds are, based on what the story is said to be about (reportedly loosely based on Irvine Welsh’s sequel novel Porno), we could be in for a raunchy red-band look at the new film, which reunites the original cast after 20 years.
Starring Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle (and we are keeping our fingers crossed for Kelly Macdonald’s return, following her fantastic stint in the third season finale of Black Mirror) – T2 is released January 27 in the UK and February 3 in the U.S..
