CONFIRMED: New ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer Arrives Friday

UPDATE (Nov 3, 2016): Following an original announcement for a release on Wednesday, then a mysterious retraction of said announcement…WB just announced the trailer is coming Friday. Expect it just under 24 hours from now (3pm GMT/8am PT/11am ET)…or try your luck at catching it on the big screen tonight (with Doctor Strange and/or Trolls).

Original post follows:

While everyone is busy trying to get Ben Affleck to say something about his upcoming Batman film (currently titled The Batman), Warner Bros. are currently preparing for the return of the big screen’s other, more animated, Dark Knight. Alberta Film Ratings have rated a new full trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie last night, coming after two hilarious teasers that arrived with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back in March and an extended trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in late July.

We are expecting the trailer to arrive online in the next week or so, in time for the U.S. release of Marvel’s Doctor Strange on November 4. Given The LEGO Batman Movie is now an IMAX release, a new trailer in front of an IMAX release like Doctor Strange makes a lot of sense; it has also been a few months after we got the SDCC trailer, so it’s about time for a new look.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

With Will Arnett reprising his The LEGO Movie voice role as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and also featuring the voices of Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, The LEGO Batman Movie arrives in theatres and IMAX February 10, 2017.
