The annual CLIO Key Art Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, with some of the year’s best films, as well as TV series and games, taking home awards for their posters, trailers and other marketing materials.
Deadpool, which came out with a hilariously NSFW nomination sizzle a couple of weeks ago (which has now unfortunately been scrubbed from the internet by Fox), took home the Grand Key Art Award for Best Integrated Campaign. Another Grand Key Art win came for Gavin O’Connor’s The Accountant – the Radiohead-soundtracked teaser trailer from Mob Scene took the award home for Best Teaser.
Other notable wins include a Grand Key Art Award for Concept Arts’ full trailer for The Shallows, as well as Gold Awards for Ignition’s teaser for Sausage Party, Aspect LA’s infamous but excellently cut ‘Rhapsody’ trailer for Suicide Squad which may have been responsible for the film’s editing room issues, Motive’s final trailer for Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs, the hilarious final trailer for Hail, Caesar! and trailers for a number of upcoming releases including The LEGO Batman Movie and Kong: Skull Island.
You can see the full winners list, including Silver and Bronze winners, at the CLIO website. Which has been your favourite trailer so far this year? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
