While movie studios have been more and more hesitant to come to San Diego Comic-Con over fears of piracy amongst other issues, this year’s New York Comic-Con, running from tomorrow to October 9, will have a number of studios, some of which weren’t at SDCC, bringing their films and talent to New York’s Javits Center. This may be the first time NYCC has had a movie contingent of this scale, and not to mention – most of these presentations will be streamed online on Twitch! Here’s a quick look at what new trailers to expect from NYCC this weekend:

Thursday – War for the Planet of the Apes

Panel streamed online – no

Likelihood of trailer landing – 50/50?

Director Matt Reeves and Caesar himself – Andy Serkis – will be on hand Thursday evening (8:30pm ET/1:30am BST) to present behind-the-scenes look and some ‘film footage’ from the July 14 release to the attendees! Unfortunately this presentation will not be streamed, so it’s hard to say whether Fox will release anything for those at home, but chances are that one of the pieces – either the BTS or the film footage – will land online for everyone to view. (Deadline / official Twitter)

Friday – Screen Gems w/ Underworld: Blood Wars and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Panel streamed online – yes

Likelihood of trailer landing – almost sure bet for Resident Evil?

At 1:30pm ET/6:30pm BST Friday, Screen Gems will host a presentation with the casts and crews of the upcoming instalments two of their horror franchises – Underworld and Resident Evil. While Underworld: Blood Wars already released their first trailer just a couple of weeks ago, the first Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trailer landed back at the start of August, so we are definitely due for a new trailer for the latter film (which actress Ali Larter did say would arrive this month). This will be streamed on Twitch, so do expect whatever they do end up showing to be released online. (ComingSoon)

tgw12:30pm ET/5:30pm BST – The Great Wall

Panel streamed online – yes

Likelihood of trailer landing – pretty much a sure bet

As revealed last night with our In The Pipeline update, a full The Great Wall trailer is on the way and the timing suggests that we should almost certainly be seeing it during Saturday’s presentation at NYCC, which will be streamed online on Twitch! Matt Damon, director Zhang Yimou and other cast members will be on hand to present the film.

2pm ET/7pm BST – Lionsgate w/ John Wick: Chapter 2 and Power Rangers

Panel streamed online – yes

Likelihood of trailers landing – almost a sure bet

We’ve been waiting to get our first looks at these films for a long time, with John Wick showing footage all the way back in April at CinemaCon; so there isn’t a more perfect place to debut the first trailers for both films than this Saturday afternoon panel, which will be streamed on Twitch. Casts and the filmmakers behind both films, including Keanu Reeves, will be there to present the footage – and if reactions are to go by, this panel is definitely one to watch out for. (Deadline / Collider)

Also on the show floor – Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

Panel streamed online – no panel…

Likelihood of trailer landing – unlikely…

Luc Besson and Jean-Claude Mézières will be at NYCC promoting Besson’s return to space opera that is Valerian, but not as a panel but rather an autograph signing on Thursday. However EuropaCorp will have a special booth on the show floor promoting the film, which is said to include early footage! May not be a trailer – and it’s about time we get one – but this is a very cool treat for those attending. (Deadline)

Which of these first look peeks this weekend at NYCC are you most excited for? Will you be watching the Twitch streams from home? Let us know in the comments or on our Twitter!
